From and to the Airport

To get into the city from the airport, you can take a taxi directly from the official taxi stand just outside the terminal. You can also enter your destination address into a machine inside the baggage claim area to receive a printed fare estimate, which you can then bring to the taxi stand. Alternatively, you can book a ride through one of the car services listed below.

Public transportation is also available from the airport to the city center. The 100E airport shuttle bus goes directly to Deák Ferenc tér. Tickets for the 100E bus can be purchased at the purple ticket machines, on board the bus, or through the BudapestGO app.

Trains

There are three main trains stations in Budapest to travel out of the city to all over Hungary and Europe, Nyugati Pályaudvar, Keleti Pályaudvar, Déli Pályaudvar and Kelenföld. Each station goes a certain direction out of the city, so make sure you go to the correct train station.

Arriving from Keleti Pályaudvar:

Trolleybus 78 (Red line)

1. Head to the Garay utca trolleybus stop, which is right outside Keleti Pályaudvar 

station.

1. Board the 78 trolleybus heading towards Kossuth Lajos tér and travel 6 stops to Király utca/Erzsébet körút
2. After about 4 minutes, you’ll reach Liszt Ferenc tér, and Liszt Ferenc tér 5

Arriving From Kelenföld:

From Kelenföld Railway Station:

1. Take Metro Line M4 (green line) Travel 7 stops and get off at Rákóczi tér
2. Exit the metro and walk up to the Rákóczi tér tram stop (right above the metro station) 
3. Board Tram 4 or 6 in the direction of Széll Kálmán tér and travel 3 stops until 

Király utca/Erzsébet körút.

1. . After about 4 minutes walking, you’ll reach Liszt Ferenc tér, and Liszt Ferenc tér 

Arriving from Nyugati pályaudvar:

1.  Board Tram 4 or 6 and travel 2 stops until Király utca/Erzsébet körút.
2. After about 4 minutes walking, you’ll reach Liszt Ferenc tér, and Liszt Ferenc tér 

Arriving from Déli pályaudvar:

Take Metro Line M2 (red line)

• Board at Déli pályaudvar and Travel 6 tops until Blaha Lujza tér.

• Go up to the tram stop at Blaha Lujza tér and take Tram 4 or 6 for 2 stops until  Király utca/Erzsébet körút.

• . After about 4 minutes walking, you’ll reach Liszt Ferenc tér, and Liszt Ferenc tér

Parking

Street parking is available in the city center for a fee of 600 HUF/hour, free after 10 pm until 8 am in the morning and from 10 pm Friday until 8 am Monday. For payments we suggest you download the ‘Simple’ application, because it is easy to track, and it shows the parking areas too.
